Question: 1e
We have been tested in these later times with the studying in mixed universities, specifically some of the brothers who strive upon the circles of knowledge, however streight after the secondary education ends they hurry along to the mixed universities with the pretext that they are not able to find employment except by obtaining a certificate, or with the pretext that their parent has insisted on this or he will be kicked out of the house and other than that, so then what is your advise to these brothers.
Answer:1
Many from the 'Ulemaa of the Sunnah have warned with every kind of warning, and have rejected this action with every rejection, relying upon verses from the book of Allah concerning that, and Hadeeth from the Sunnah of the messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family. And from those proofs concerning the prohibition upon that is the statement of Allah mighty and exalted be He:1
﴿وَإِذَا سَأَلْتُمُوهُنَّ مَتَاعًا فَاسْأَلُوهُنَّ مِنْ وَرَاءِ حِجَابٍ ذَلِكُمْ أَطْهَرُ لِقُلُوبِكُمْ وَقُلُوبِهِنَّ﴾And when you ask (his wives) for anything you want, ask them from behind a screen, that is purer for your hearts and for their hearts
Al-Ahzaab 53
Al-Ahzaab 53
This command was aimed at the companions of the messenger of Allah and was towards the dealing with the wives of the messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and they were the most purest of hearts and the most virtuous of personalities, Allah blessed be He has attested them in His noble book, for He, The Most High, said:1
﴿النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَى بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُ أُمَّهَاتُهُمْ﴾The Prophet is closer to the believers than their ownselves, and his wives are their (believers') mothers
Al-Ahzaab 6
Al-Ahzaab 6
And He, glorified be He, said:1
﴿وَالسَّابِقُونَ الأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالأَنصَارِ وَالَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُمْ بِإِحْسَانٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ﴾And the first to embrace Islâm of the Muhâjirûn (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansâr (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhâjirûn) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allâh is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him
At-Tawbah 100
At-Tawbah 100
And He, The Most High, said:1
﴿لِلْفُقَرَاءِ الْمُهَاجِرِينَ الَّذِينَ أُخْرِجُوا مِنْ دِيارِهِمْ وَأَمْوَالِهِمْ يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِنَ اللهِ وَرِضْوَانًا وَيَنْصُرُونَ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الصَّادِقُونَ * وَالَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُوا الدَّارَ وَالإِيمَانَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ يُحِبُّونَ مَنْ هَاجَرَ إِلَيْهِمْ وَلا يَجِدُونَ فِي صُدُورِهِمْ حَاجَةً مِمَّا أُوتُوا وَيُؤْثِرُونَ عَلَى أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَلَوْ كَانَ بِهِمْ خَصَاصَةٌ﴾qqq(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allâh and to please Him. And helping Allâh (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (MuhammadSAW). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say);- And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them, and have no jealousy in their breasts for that which they have been given (from the booty of Banî An-Nadîr), and give them (emigrants) preference over themselves, even though they were in need of that
Al-Hashr 8-9
Al-Hashr 8-9
And He said, holy be His name:1
﴿لا يَسْتَوِي الْقَاعِدُونَ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ غَيْرُ أُوْلِي الضَّرَرِ وَالْمُجَاهِدُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللهِ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ فَضَّلَ اللهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ بِأَمْوَالِهِمْ وَأَنفُسِهِمْ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ دَرَجَةً وَكُلًّا وَعَدَ اللهُ الْحُسْنَى وَفَضَّلَ اللهُ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا﴾Not equal are those of the believers who sit (at home), except those who are disabled (by injury or are blind or lame, etc.), and those who strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with their wealth and their lives. Allâh has preferred in grades those who strive hard and fight with their wealth and their lives above those who sit (at home). Unto each, Allâh has promised good (Paradise), but Allâh has preferred those who strive hard and fight, above those who sit (at home) by a huge reward
An-Nisaa 95
An-Nisaa 95
Likewise Allah says exalted be His higness:1
﴿لَقَدْ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ يُبَايِعُونَكَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ فَأَنْزَلَ السَّكِينَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَأَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيبًا﴾Indeed, Allâh was pleased with the believers when they gave their Bai'â (pledge) to you (O Muhammad) under the tree, He knew what was in their hearts, and He sent down As-Sakinah (calmness and tranquillity) upon them, and He rewarded them with a near victory
Al-Fath 18
Al-Fath 18
And He said, glorified be He:1
﴿مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاءُ بَيْنَهُمْ تَرَاهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَبْتَغُونَ فَضْلًا مِنَ اللهِ وَرِضْوَانًا﴾Muhammad is the Messenger of Allâh, and those who are with him are severe against disbelievers, and merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and falling down prostrate (in prayer), seeking Bounty from Allâh and (His) Good Pleasure
Al-Fath 29
Al-Fath 29
And the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, said:1
q"Do not vilify my comanions, for if one of you was to give (in charity) the like of mount Uhud, it would not amount to a Madd (cupped handfull) of what they gave, not even half of that"1
Bukhari and Muslim
Bukhari and Muslim
And he said, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him:1
q"Verily Allah looked upon the people of Badr then he said: "Do as you please, for I have already forgiven you"1
Bukhari and Muslim
Bukhari and Muslim
These evidences prove the purity of the hearts of the companion of the messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and may Allah be pleased with all of them. Bearing that in mind, then the command was directed towards them in the begining, and it is for the believers generaly, and they are people who the messenger of Allah said concerning them, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family:1
q"The best of mankind is my generation, then those that follow them and then those that follow them, then after that there will come a people who testify and they were not asked to testify, they will betray and they will not be trusted, they swear oaths and do not fufill them, and fatness will appear amongst them."1
Bukhari and Muslim
Bukhari and Muslim
So then the messenger of Allah described themwith these praisworthy attributes, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and he described those after them with despicable attributes, except he who Allah has mercy upon from the people of Haqq and Sunnah. Likewise the prophet said, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, as comes in the two Saheeh books on the authority of 'Uqbat Bin 'Aamir:1
q"Beware of entering upon the women"1
They said, "Oh messenger of Allah, what do you see regarding the inlaw?", he said:1
q"The inlaw is death"1
And in the two Saheeh books from the Hadeeth of Ibn Abbaas, may Allah be pleased with him:1
q"Verily the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, gave a sermon to the men on the day of 'Eid, then he went to the women and gave admonishion and reminded them"1
Al-Haafidh An-Nawawee said aswell: "Within it (i.e. the Hadeeth) is proof of segregation between the men and women, for if they were all in one place or gathered together they would have heard the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and he would have not needed to do a second sermon."1
Also in the two Saheeh books from the Hadeeth of Umm 'Atiyyah, may Allah be pleased with her: that the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, ordered the menstruating women and the ones in seclusion to go out to the Musalla (praying place) of the Muslims, and on account of this withdrawal and distancing from the men, the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, needed to give them a sermon so they could hear what they needed from the issues pertaining to the religion.11
In the two Saheeh books from the Hadeeth of Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudree, may Allah be pleased with him, that the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family said:111

In the two Saheeh books from the Hadeeth of Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudree, may Allah be pleased with him, that the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family said:111
q"Beware of sitting on the paths"1
They said: "Oh messenger of Allah, it is a must that we have our counsil", he said:2
q"if you must have your council, then give the path its right"1
They said: "and what is the right of the path"? He said:1
q"Lowering the gaze, refraining from harm, replying the Salaam and enjoining the good and forbiding the evil"1
Likewise the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, said:1
q"The woman is 'Awrah, when she goes out, the Shaytaan looks over her"1
from the Hadeeth of Ibn Mas'oud
from the Hadeeth of Ibn Mas'oud
Shaytaan lookes over her and inspires her that she is something great, and the messenger said, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family:1
q"I have never seen anybody more deficient in intellect and religion who are more overpowering to a resolute man than one of you women"1
A woman said "Oh messenger of Allah! what is different in our intellect and our religion?" he said:1
q"As for the deficiency in her religion, then she spends days and does not pray (i.e. menses), and as for the deficiency in her intellect, then the testification of a man is worth that of two women..." until the end of the Hadeeth
Our Lord, exalted be He, said:1
﴿قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ﴾Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them
An-Noor 30
An-Noor 30
Lowering the gaze does not come from free mixing. there is no escape regarding that from talking, free mixing, touching, shaking hands, there is no escape concerning that from greater affairs that nobody knows (what goes on) except Allah, The Most High says:1
﴿قُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا فُرُوجَهُمْ ذَلِكَ أَزْكَى لَهُمْ إِنَّ اللهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ * وَقُلْ لِلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا﴾Tell the believing men to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.). That is purer for them. Verily, Allâh is All-Aware of what they do.And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent
An-Noor 30-31
An-Noor 30-31
That female student intends to go to school with the utmost beauty and adornment, and Allah The Most High has said:1
﴿وَلا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَى جُيُوبِهِنَّ﴾and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent, and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc)1
An-Noor 31
An-Noor 31
And that female student reveals her face and does not draw her veil over it, Allah, glorified be He said:1
﴿وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَى جُيُوبِهِنَّ وَلا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَائِهِنَّ أَوْ آبَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَائِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَاءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي إِخْوَانِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِي أَخَوَاتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَائِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُهُنَّ أَوِ التَّابِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُوْلِي الإِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ﴾and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islâm), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour
An-Noor 31
An-Noor 31
He who lacks vigour is he who has no intention for women neither any desire
﴿أَوِ الطِّفْلِ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا عَلَى عَوْرَاتِ النِّسَاءِ﴾
or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex

or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex

Is those who can not destinguish between ugliness or beauty, and the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, when he married Safiyyah he drooped a veil between her and those who were entering. In the two Saheeh books from the Hadeeth of A'aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: That the women used to pray behind the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, and then they would leave as is they were crows, nobody would know who they were in the darkness. And in the Saheeh from the Hadeeth of Umm Salamah: That the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, if he left from his prayer he would wait a little while until the women had left [Bukhari] so that free mixing between the men and the women did not occur, and it is also affirmed in the Musnaf of Abdur-Razzaq, and it is narrated in the Musnaf of Ibn Abee Shaybah also: That Abdullah Bin 'Umar heard the prophet say, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family: 1
q"If you left this door for the women"1
So then Ibn 'Umar did not enter from this door again until he died. [Musanaf]1
So then the women had a seperate door to leave from after the prayer, and the messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family, ordered that the rows of the women be the last rows without free mixing, due to their love for praying behind the messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family.1
This free mixed learning has to be carefully looked at, debating occurs, as does talking and hand shaking, and the majority of the people of knowledge have said: That giving Salaam to a unrelated women, if Fitnah will occur or it is feared that it will occur, then it is not permissible.1
All of these corrupt things occur within free mixed education, in college and high school, and I have seen a newspaper before that mentioned that most of the divorced cases are women who have studied in free mixed schools, for she leaves and is acustomed to talking with so and so and shaking hands and going out, and she wants to persue these things, after getting married perhaps he who has jelousy will not be pleased with that, even if he is sinful himself. In the Saheeh regarding the story of Jurayj from the Hadeeth of Abu Hurairah: That Banee Isra'eel were conspiring against Jurayj, a woman came and said: "if you wish I will cause Fitnah for him", so they told her to do it. so she went to him and displayed herself to him, but he did not become overpowered by her, so she offered herself to a shepherd. Then she came (after time) and gave birth under his hermitage. When she gave birth they said: "who has done this to you"? She said: "it is from Jurayj" so they grabbed axes, demolished his hermitage and started beating him, he said "What is the metter with you?" so they said: "you adulterated this prostitute and she gave birth to a boy from you" so he said "where is the boy", they said "It is this" so he prayed and then he was brought to him and he stabbed him with his finger, and said "who is your father" and he said "the shepherd" [Bukhari]111
Our point from this Hadeeth: That mixing between the men and the women is considered destruction in the old times from Banee Isra'eel because it corrups the congregation, and they are scheming against the Muslims with every scheme, He The Most High says:111

For they are not pleased with the current situation of the Muslims, as many of them patiently forebare the sins, and they spend exorbitant amounts of money to corrupt the woman in order for her to corrupt the man. For from the women are those who are clothed yet naked, just as he said, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family:1
q"The clothed yet naked women who walk with in an enticing manner will not enter paradise, neither will they find its fragrence"1
She dresses in transparent clothes, on the apparent she is clothed but yet she is naked. 'Umar and another man passed by the prophet, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and he said:1
q"slow down for verily it is Safiyyah"q
And in the narration within Muslim:1
q"It is my wife Safiyyah"1
They said: "Oh messenger of Allah, meaning: it is as if they found within themselves (something) from this, then he said:1
q"Verily Shaytaan runs like blood through Banee Aadam and I fear that he has struck something in their heart"1

So is it that Shaytaan can not be with the secretary and with the doctor?!!! And that he can not be with the male and female student?!!! And he can not be in the exam time and with those (coversational) tones when the woman meets with the teacher "Oh teacher what is this issue we do not understand it"?! Mistakes, by Allah Oh brothers. Verily it is considered treachery to the religion of Allah, blessed be his name, from the like of some of these Mufties who give permission for free mixing, they are considered trators to the religion of Allah. It is obligatory for every Muslim to fear Allah and to advise himself and others, and not to be a prisoner of employment, Allah knows best what will come to him from employment or if he will die before it happens (i.e. he finds employment). For from the people is he who becomes worshipper of the Dirham and the Deenaar, and he venerates this certificate, even if it be with falsehood, even if it be with free mixed education with the prospect of attaining employment, He The Most High said:1
﴿وَمَنْ يَتَّقِ اللهَ يَجْعَلْ لَهُ مَخْرَجًا * وَيَرْزُقْهُ مِنْ حَيْثُ لا يَحْتَسِبُ وَمَنْ يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ إِنَّ اللهَ بَالِغُ أَمْرِهِ﴾And whosoever fears Allâh and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out. And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allâh, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allâh will accomplish his purpose
