What Man Needs To Be Balanced In His Love and Hatred- Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah‏

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said:
Indeed, man is unjust and ignorant.  The origin with regards to his (affair) is that he has no knowledge and his inclination is towards what he desires of evil.
Therefore, he is in constant need of detailed knowledge in order to bring about an end to his ignorance, and (in order that he is given) justice in his love, hatred, pleasure, anger, abandonment, giving and withholding.  He is in need of justice in everything he says and does in order to remove the oppression (he may commit). So, unless Allaah grants him detailed knowledge and the (detailed knowledge of the precepts) of justice, he will be in that ignorance and oppression that will take him away from the straight path.
